CEO, Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), Kenya
Edward Mungai is an Eisenhower 2016 fellow and the CEO of Kenya Climate Innovation Center. KCIC supports a holistic country driven approach to accelerate development, deployment and transfer of locally relevant climate technologies to the private sector through incubation of clean technology enterprises.
Prior to joining KCIC, he was the East Africa Regional head for the Danish International Investments Fund. He is passionate about sustainable development and the role of private sector as a driver for sustainable development in Africa. He has experience in development of financing mechanisms for private sector, with special interests in agribusiness, renewable energy and water management.
Mr. Mungai has been instrumental in the establishment of Kenya Climate Ventures which is a USD 5 million seed fund that supports early stage, cleantech enterprises. He is also a faculty member at Strathmore Business School where he lecturers on entrepreneurship,corporate sustainability and innovation to executives.
